Product description Heating cable
We supply two types of heating cable.
Self-limiting heating tape without clixon
This type of heating tape has a semi-conductive self-limiting core that gives a varying resistance depending on the temperature. This means that the heating tape adjusts its power to the situation. At a higher temperature it gives off less power, and vice versa. This prevents the heating tape from overheating, even if it crosses itself. Due to the parallel connection, the heating tape can be cut at any point if necessary. This type of self-limiting cable goes up to 65°C and has a power of up to 11W/m. The cable is always ''on'' without regulation. You can control the heating cable with an external thermostat or regulation.
Self-limiting heating tape with clixon
This type of self-limiting cable has a semi-conductive self-limiting core that gives a varying resistance depending on the temperature. This means that the self-limiting cable adjusts its power to the situation. At a higher temperature it delivers less power, and vice versa. This prevents the thermal tape from overheating, even if it crosses itself. Due to the parallel connection, the thermal tape can be cut at any point if necessary. This type of thermal tape has a maximum temperature of 65°C and a power of up to 11W/m. This heating cable contains a clixon that is incorporated in the cable. In short, the cable is activated at +5°C and switched off at +12°C without external control. Please note: when placing the heating cable in or under water, the clixon does not work (optimally) and an external control may still be required.
Product application Heating cable
Heating cables are mainly used for internal and surface heating of tanks and pipes such as sewage pipes, water pipes and water meters and water taps. Where a flexible heating element is required. The cables are available in standard versions with the option of associated control technology. Plug & play is standard with this cable. Optional is an external thermostat/control or internal thermostat in the form of a built-in clixon that automatically switches the heating cable on at +5°C and off at +12°C. Electric heating cables are used in various frost-free applications, such as:
-
(water) pipes
-
Sewer pipes
-
Water meters and water taps
-
(roots of) plants and trees
-
Wells and well heads
