The night frost detector is a remote temperature monitor. It has a sensor that can measure whether the temperature falls below the critical value. In the event of a frost alarm, you will immediately receive a message on your mobile phone, so that you can take timely action to prevent frost damage (e.g. fruit trees). The night frost detector continuously monitors the outside temperature and registers all changes where you place it. When the temperature limit is reached, the frost detector comes into action. You can set and change the MIN or MAX value for the alarm temperature yourself. When these limits are exceeded, the night frost alarm sends an SMS message with the current temperature on site.
Applications
Night frost detector for outdoor use
The night frost detector has a waterproof housing, with a sensor attached to a cable. Connecting wires are not applicable because the detector works on built-in batteries. This makes it easy to change measurement locations. It is important that there is GSM coverage. You can easily test this beforehand.
SIM card for night frost detector
The wireless night frost detector contains a GSM module, for which you can use any normal SIM card. It is suitable for a mobile phone contract, but also for a prepaid card. To receive an alarm, you can enter 1 to 5 different numbers, both to mobile phones and landlines.
Night frost message to GSM
When there is a risk of freezing, the night frost detector sends the SMS message and/or a call set by the user. In the event of an alarm, 1 to 5 different telephone numbers can be called. As soon as one of them accepts the emergency call, the calls to the other numbers will stop.
GSM detector on batteries
The night frost detector works on batteries and also indicates when they are almost empty. The batteries are included in the delivery and last for 1 year with normal use.
Setting options night frost detector
The night frost alarm can be switched on time-controlled (automatically) or manually (via your mobile phone). This night frost detector is also suitable for other applications, thanks to the large temperature range and its robust housing. Examples are agricultural applications, such as animal housing and storage areas for products. The frost detector has functions for alarm texts and alarm repeat or delay. You can operate it directly from your own smartphone. Connecting a laptop or wiring is not necessary to set it up. It can be used immediately with a normal SIM card (provider of your choice, e.g. Simyo).
TIP: With your own mobile phone you can check in advance whether the signal of the mobile network is sufficiently strong at the desired location.

Added value sim/portal
As a sim card we advise to activate the included Mobeye sim card. With this the device communicates via 4G LTE-M as well as 2G and ís “multi-provider”. It chooses the strongest network on site, has a very good penetrability and thus gives a reliable connection. With the Mobeye SIM card the device is also connected to the Mobeye Portal and the Mobeye Messages app. This gives extra security and user-friendliness. The dashboard shows the status of one or more devices at a glance. Programming is done online, incoming test messages are automatically checked, in case of problems contacts are warned via app, call, SMS and/or e-mail. Forwarding to a monitoring center (PAC) is also possible. The SIM card costs € 4/month* excluding VAT (flat fee for normal use), (annual) payment is online, or -on request- on invoice. An own simcard is also possible (NL: KPN or Vodafone, no t-Mobile or subsidiaries). The device then works (only) via 2G and the Mobeye Portal functions are no longer required. At alarm it will call and/or sms (to max. 5 numbers). Please note that a prepaid card expires if the card is not used for too long.
